OUR STORY

Precious Pets Cemetery has been serving Oklahoma families and veterinarians for 35 years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to provide superior pet aftercare services for many years to come.

Established in 1985, Precious Pets Cemetery is a family owned and operated cemetery and crematory. Founded by Bob Cowles, we are located just outside of Oklahoma City in the small town of Spencer, where the rural atmosphere is peaceful and serene.

Our business has been continually growing to meet the needs of our patrons. In 2003, we acquired the beautiful Pet Memorial Gardens in Norman to provide several additional resting places for your beloved pets. We also added equine cremation and burial services in 2005.

Our outstanding reputation is based largely on the fact that we remain a family owned and operated business, with a third generation of the family currently helming the business. We take our responsibility to the community and to our profession seriously, and one of the family members operating Precious Pets, Robert Erdman, is not only a Registered Pet Funeral Director and Certified Pet Crematory Operator but also follows the family tradition started by his Grandfather, and continued by his mother, Linda McCullough, by serving on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories. The IAOPCC represents the gold standard in both business and ethics in the aftercare industry.

To date, Precious Pets is the first and only accredited pet cemetery and crematory by the International Association of Pet Cemeteries in the state Oklahoma, meeting more than 300 standards in pet cremation care and management. We are also a proud longtime supporter of Best Friends and Volunteers for Animal Welfare. We support the Festival of the Family Pet, Paws on Parade, and numerous breed and rescue groups. As a result of our long and continuous history in this business, you can be assured that our adherence to and understanding of the industry’s highest ethical and professional standards will enable us to treat your pet as if it was our own.
